This is a short mix of favourite tracks from my first set at Smooth Salsa in 2012. This monthly Birmingham event is run by Michael Pottinger and his team, and the music is stewarded by one of the best young DJs in the country, Mr Jim Close. Jim has championed a mix of hard-hitting modern salsa with plenty of bite alongside the old school tunes of the 70s heyday. This mix goes for the same, leaning towards music released in the last 5 years, with a polished modern sound but with plenty of power and drive to keep you dancing.
