On the 14th of September 2014, I had the privilege of spinning a set at O’Sullivan’s in Paris. Every Sunday, the Parisian salseros and salseras walk past the famous Moulin Rouge in Montmartre to dance in what used to be its restaurant! Renowned congress DJ Gabriel launched salsa at this venue in 2006, and it has now become an institution in the French salsa scene, attracting the area’s best dancers including some international performers. Gabriel is supported by two other fantastic residents that I have had the pleasure of working with: DJ Loïc Thomas and DJ Cycy. After a gentle opening set by Gabriel to ease the crowd in, it was Loïc and I that spun the rest of the night. The second track on the video was played just before the night’s showcase by Mike and Maureen of New Tribe.
